Maris Stella College Thimbirigaskatuwa is a relatively new, vibrant and rapidly progressing educational institute. On the 1 st of January 2004, on the site of the former Catholic Teacher-training College in Bolawalana, Sri Lanka, the School began as a Branch of Maris Stella College Negombo, motivating young souls to broaden and deepen their human development and bring honor and glory of our society. A major milestone in the history of Maris Stella College Branch school was reached in 2014. Our Alma Mater moved from Bolawalana to a brand-new home in Thimbirigaskatuwa.

Today Maris Stella College Thimbirigaskatuwa is a self-reliant, greatly esteemed educational institution. Enlightened and illuminated by our Marist values, the College is educating and equipping our students with the knowledge and skills required to prosper in their future lives and work as edifying Christians and citizens dedicated to the common good. In our classrooms we are blessed to make use of innovative teaching techniques and state-of-the art equipment. We engage our students in the learning process by means of technology such as SMART boards and the Internet. We have five laboratories and two libraries equipped with modern facilities, giving students access to acquire the latest available information and knowledge.

A highly qualified and very competent staff of more than 150 members cater to 2200 students, providing for the fullest possible development of every young man 's potential to live a creative, virtuous and inspiring life in society.
